Yoga Therapy

Explore your way to Self & Health

What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy is the balance between the new and old.

The known and unknown.

The exploration and the letting be.

Finding home…right where you are.

In its modern guise, yoga therapy is considered a reasonably new discipline. But it has been around for at least one hundred years. Utilising the Eight Limbs of Yoga as laid out by Patanjali and adopting the Five layered Self from the Taittiriya Upanishad it works at all levels of a persons being. As a practitioner of non-duality, I also weave this in to the tapestry of the yoga therapy sessions I offer.

In each session you can expect, a warm welcome.

A settling of the body. Supported with props and/or a chair.

Movement adapted to your body and level of fitness/health.

Breath Gym; adopting the functional breath.

Relaxation & Yoga Nidra. This is the part of the session my clients adore the most!

I presently only work online via Zoom.

Integrative Yoga Therapy

There is research evidence that dates back as far as the 1970’s that shows that yoga can be used to improve health.

The first studies pertained to the reduction of blood pressure through meditation.

In the UK, Yoga Therapy is recognised by the NHS, but it is not readily available on the NHS.

As a medical doctor, I know the benefits that Yoga Therapy can bring to those with a range of chronic conditions. And because of my medical knowledge, you can be certain that you are in safe hands.

These benefits include strength, balance, flexibility, bone health, functional breathing, pain management, bringing balance to the nervous system, restorative rest, coordination, reduction in blood pressure, connection and gratitude.
