Intentional Living

Lifestyle Medicine is everything I should have been taught at medical school but wasn’t! The research underpinning lifestyle medicine goes back to the 1960’S when it was shown that it was possible to reverse heart disease by strict adherence to a plant based diet and regular exercise.

It is based around these six pillars: Healthy Eating, Physical Activity, Minimising harmful substances, Healthy Sleep, Mental Wellbeing and Healthy Relationships. It is well known that making these changes can successfully help in the management of a number of chronic diseases.

One of the healthiest diets in Europe is the Mediterranean diet and this is what I tend to recommend to my clients.

I believe in the power of small and intentional changes. We won’t be doing a complete overhaul of your lifestyle. What we will be doing will be small, but it will make an impact. And I find that when clients start to notice positive benefits, then they desire more change and will naturally start moving towards a health-full lifestyle.

It is possible to have one consultation with some recommendations for change. But results are far better when we work together over a sustained period of time. I also recommend that we incorporate yoga sessions. This allows you to develop the awareness that is needed to sustain change.

The first consultation is one hour, follow ups are 30 minutes.

There will be paperwork to complete prior to and following each session but it is not arduous.
